AIOS will no longer support PHP 5.6 from 1 June 2025
From 1 June 2025, we’ll be ending support for PHP 5.6 in AIOS.
What does this mean for you?
If you’re still using PHP 5.6:
You’ll no longer receive updates for AIOS, including new features, improvements or bug fixes.
The plugin will continue to work, but we strongly recommend upgrading to PHP 7.0.33 or higher.
Staying on PHP 5.6 could expose your site to security risks, as this version no longer receives security patches.
Why is support being dropped?
Section titled Why is support being dropped?PHP 5.6 reached its official end of life in 2018, which means it’s no longer maintained or secure. By focusing on newer PHP versions, we can provide better performance, stronger security and access to better AIOS features.
What should you do?
Section titled What should you do?- Check which PHP version your site is running.
- If it’s still on PHP 5.6, speak to your hosting provider about upgrading to a supported version (ideally PHP 7.0.33 or higher).
- Once upgraded, you’ll continue receiving AIOS updates as usual.
