If you’re a WordPress developer, then you may have times when you want to advise the user to take a backup. e.g. Before major database operations, upgrades, etc.

UpdraftPlus makes this very easy. Just two simple code snippets, and you can make UpdraftPlus start a backup on any page of the dashboard area, with a convenient, invisible-until-requested dialog box – which then runs your chosen code when the backup has finished.

If you’re interested in that as a developer, then here’s our guide to how it’s done. You can see the main dashboard panel of the popular plugin “WP-Optimize” as an example.

The post Add “take a backup” functionality to your plugin appeared first on UpdraftPlus. UpdraftPlus – Backup, restore and migration plugin for WordPress.
