WP-Optimize release v4.2.3: Power up your site’s performance with key fixes and tweaks
In the latest release of WP-Optimize 4.2.3, we’ve packed a punch with a series of important fixes and enhancements that boost performance and resolve pesky issues. This update is aimed at giving website owners a smoother experience while optimizing their sites, ensuring faster load times and improved compatibility across different environments.
With this release, you’ll find essential tweaks that address everything from cache problems to improved image handling, all designed to eliminate frustrations and maximize the effectiveness of your optimization efforts. Let’s dig into what’s new and see how these updates can enhance your WordPress experience!
Feature Highlights
Section titled Feature Highlights1. Improved Image Management
Section titled 1. Improved Image ManagementIn this update, YouTube lazy-load functionality has been tweaked so that if a browser doesn’t support WebP images, it falls back to JPG thumbnails. This ensures that your viewers will always see a proper preview of your videos, regardless of their browser’s capabilities. Additionally, we’ve corrected an image filtering issue for multisite setups, ensuring images are handled accurately and efficiently across all your sites.
2. Enhanced Database Optimization
Section titled 2. Enhanced Database OptimizationWe’ve also made improvements in database optimization, including better compatibility with jQuery 4. This not only enhances performance but also adds an extra layer of security, making it easier for users to maintain a healthy, high-performing database.
3. Additional CSS Improvements
Section titled 3. Additional CSS ImprovementsTo enhance the aesthetic appeal and performance of your admin UI, we’ve made CSS tweaks to handle font sizes better, remove duplication, and enhance compatibility with the Divi theme’s dynamically generated assets. Whether you’re a seasoned developer or a website manager, you’ll appreciate the cleaner interface and smoother operation.
4. WebP Images Not Served in Firefox on Nginx Servers
Section titled 4. WebP Images Not Served in Firefox on Nginx ServersWe’ve resolved an issue where WebP images were not being served to users browsing with the latest version of Firefox when the website was hosted on an Nginx server. Despite WebP versions being available, Firefox would fall back to JPEG or PNG formats. This fix ensures that Firefox correctly receives and displays WebP images where supported, improving load times and image performance for end users.
Minor Updates & Bug Fixes
Section titled Minor Updates & Bug FixesIn addition to the key features, this update also includes:
- Fixed typos from “meta data” to “metadata.”
- Resolution of a PHP warning that occurred with excessively long cache file names.
- Resolved cron job scheduling errors for the wpo_prune_404_log hook.
- Addressed a rare PHP warning when saving posts in the premium version.
- Adjusted the incorrect transients count in the database optimizations UI.
- Corrected the site count appearance for multisite optimizations.
- The 404 detector now logs URLs on mobile screens more effectively, fixing any viewport issues
