UpdraftPlus 1.9.44 Release

UpdraftPlus 1.9.44 has just been released with two minor updates.

UpdraftPlus has included several incomplete translations in this release. This decision comes in anticipation of changes in the WordPress plugins directory. Starting with WordPress 4.1 (expected next week), the directory will prioritize plugins that offer translated versions. Previously, UpdraftPlus only released translations when they reached 100%. However, the new directory policy could negatively impact visibility if translations are incomplete. Therefore, to ensure accessibility for all users, translations are now included earlier, benefiting non-English speakers who rely on our dedicated translators.

Bug fix for backup completion

Version 1.9.40, released last week, inadvertently introduced a bug affecting backups on large sites hosted on low-resource webservers. Although this issue was reported only twice out of 60,000 downloads, it has been promptly addressed in this update. UpdraftPlus recommends all users to update to version 1.9.44 to prevent any potential backup interruptions on such configurations.

As with previous releases, UpdraftPlus 1.9.44 has undergone rigorous testing and remains fully compatible with the upcoming WordPress 4.1.
